HOW DO I CHECK ON A POTENTIAL PRODUCT OR COMPANY?

A:Most serious companies belong to their State, regional or national trade associations (see web site question below), and some of the components are certified by nationally-recognized organizations, such as United Laboratories (UL) or for solar water heating systems, the Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (SRCC). Ask the company's local distributor for customer references on an installation in your area thatís more than a year old - thereís no better way than checking with an actual customer (if they have no relationship with the provider of technology).
